Deception Bay is part of the Moreton Bay Region which is located in the north of Brisbane in South East Queensland, Australia.
Climate
It has a subtropical climate with a summer wet season and mild, dry winters. The south east trade winds are a predominant feature with occasional westerlies during the winter and northerlies during the summer. Mean summer temperatures range from 21°C overnight to 29°C during the day, although they can reach into the mid 30’s with high humidity. Winter mean temperatures range from 8°C to 21°C.
Tides
There are two tide cycles each day with a maximum range of approximately 2.5m.

The best time to visit the Moreton Bay Region is ALL THE TIME! There is so much to see and do all year round, from festivals to wildlife experiences, every season is jam packed with excitement.
Autumn
The season for the Aussie long weekend, including Easter, Autumn is the perfect time to adventure both bayside and hinterland. The cooler weather makes for comfortable hiking weather for the regions many walking tracks or just grab a cocktail and watch the world go by, by the seaside.
Winter
Winter is Whale Watching season in the Moreton Bay. Each year over 18,000 humpback whales migrate past the region on their way to northern birthing waters. These majestic creatures are a not to be missed encounter.
If snuggling in front of a fireplace is more your winter pace, the country hinterland towns of Samford, Dayboro and Woodford are a must visit. Stay in one of the local B&B’s and experience friendly country hospitality.
Spring
There’s no denying that Spring is festival heaven in the Moreton Bay Region. From Redcliffe Festival, Generate to Red Deer Music & Arts Festival, there’s endless opportunities to listen to great music, eat delicious festival food and shop till you drop at the market stalls.
